Foxconn Puts Wisconsin First, Awards Contracts to Eight Wisconsin Companies
Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn) and its general contractor, M+W | Gilbane, announced the selection of eight Wisconsin-based prime subcontractors. The contracts awarded are for the construction of the first building at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Mount Pleasant. This 120,000 square foot multipurpose building is valued at $14 million. Foundation work will begin in August 2018 for the building and it is expected to be completed in Winter 2018/2019.
Foxconn has established a "Wisconsin First" approach and actively works with local partners to hire the Wisconsin-based companies and the hard-working citizens of our state. Companies awarded contracts for work on the multipurpose building are as follows:
- Bright View Landscape Development, Inc., Milwaukee, WI - Landscape Work
- Merrill Steel, Schofield, WI - Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Work
- Otis Elevator Company, Milwaukee, WI - Elevator Work
- Pieper Electric, Inc., New Berlin, WI - Electrical Work
- Spancrete, Inc., Waukesha, WI - Precast Work
- Superior Masonry Builders, Inc., Butler, WI - Concrete Work
- The Boldt Company, Appleton, WI - Architectural Work
- Total Mechanical, Inc., Pewaukee, WI - Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection Work
WisDOT Bid Opportunities for Road Work
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced bidding opportunities for I-94 North-South Project Northern Segment.
Proposal ID #1: I-94 North-South Project Northern Segment
Submissions Due: Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
Contractor Workshop: June 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Zoo Interchange Field Office, Fox Room, 2424 S. 102nd Street, West Allis, WI.
Pre-Bid Meeting: July 12, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Oak Creek City Hall Council Chambers, 8040 S. 6th Street, Oak Creek, WI. This pre-bid meeting is mandatory.
Contract Award Date: The contract award date is dependent on the bids received on July 24.
Overview: Work involves reconstructing and expanding 7.5-miles of freeway and includes reconstructing the interchange at 7 Mile Road and constructing a new interchange at Elm Road. Other work includes drainage, grading, paving, traffic signals and structures.
