Foxconn Site Work Begins Less Than One Year After Initial Meeting

Initial site work contracts exceed "Wisconsin First" goal

Today, less than one year after the first meeting between Governor Scott Walker and Foxconn, the first excavation equipment will be delivered to the future site of Foxconn's $10 billion Science and Technology Park.  The Racine County Economic Development Corporation, Racine County, and Village of Mount Pleasant will hold a brief media availability to mark the milestone and the construction kickoff for the Foxconn Project.

Foxconn and M+W|Gilbane have announced the first contracts exceeded their "Wisconsin First" goal with 90 percent of the contractors for initial site work being from Wisconsin.  Of the 90 percent, 10 percent of the contractors are from within Racine County and 10 percent are minority, veteran and/or woman owned.  Information regarding the first contract awards will be provided in the next newsletter.

An official ground breaking ceremony will be held for the Science and Technology Park at a later date.
